- How do Oasis differ?
- We are strictly non medical and interested in prevention. Traditionally, a senior enters the system of care after a hospitalization for a fall, injury or serious illness or mishandling their medications.
- Oasis is not an employment agency, a private care agency, nor an assisted living.
- Do you provide a written care plan?
- We have a solid network of resources to do full need assessment to prepare a written care plan. Suitable activities and support are selected based on this plan. If someone has medical concerns, we work with VNA to address any needs.
- What will be offered to members?
- Members will be offered what is suitable for them. Workshops to adapt to new situations.
- Finding new purpose when one isn’t able to do what he loves by adaptive skills.
- How do you react in emergencies?
- Our personnel are well trained to handle all types of emergencies. Paramedics are called to assess situations, respond, or address the necessity for further evaluations.
- What special skills do you have that make you a good fit for the job?
- We follow closely new developments in the field of dementia activities. We use an education program Care Academy to make sure everyone has on-going training. We also follow the Dice Program, a behavioral assessment system to assist clients.
- Do you have a backup if you are ever unable to provide care?
- Our resource team helps us facilitate all services.
- What is included in the stated cost?
- One can belong to the social OASIS Connected Living Solution at no cost, or select a basic membership cost $600/year to have an assessment and regular follow-ups. Additional needs will be established after the initial assessment, and referrals will be arranged if needed. Our resources include: Cognitive Assessment by qualified personnel, home assistance with care or home maintenance.
