Respite Services, as defined by Massachusetts, is non-medical assistance. Respite care does not require licensure, as does a nursing home.

Oasis accepts only non-medical clients. (not requiring a medical professional (nurses or doctor.) Massachusetts defines a rest home as a home providing supervision and supportive services for individuals who don’t routinely need nursing or medical care. Rest homes provide housing, meals, activities, and medication administration for individuals who need a supportive living arrangement.

Oasis offers preventative and supportive services to provide safety at home, identify issues early, increase exercise and socialization. This attention will avoid rapid decline and unnecessary hospitalizations. Services provided are not considered an Adult Day Care Program that includes nursing services as defined by Massachusetts.

Oasis’s goals are to fill a gap needed between Senior Centers and traditional Adult Day Care Programs and is strictly private pay. It offers an alternative by diminishing costly private care agencies.
